The twelfth web update of the IAP Drug Formulary, the fourth for 2008, is now available for download. These updates are being made available, free of cost, to all our esteemed users as IAP Executive Board considers this as a service to pediatric care in our country. This quarterly web publication of the IAP is the first drug formulary in the world that provides such a facility.
In this update, 3 new drugs have been added and 2 have been edited. Once inputs are received from the other sub chapters, the respective scenarios will be modified. All updated data will be designated a 'New' sign so that the user could easily identify the changes made in the IAP Drug Formulary.
We hereby take the opportunity to once again inform users that only windows based palm tops would support the Drug formulary software. All users are requested to register at the site - iapdrugformulary.com - as soon as they buy the software so that their CD Key would be available in our archives for recall in case the user looses the same. We would also be able to send the user newsletters regarding availability of latest updates if the users e mail id is available on the website registration form. Please read through installation and update tips available at the site.
The Formulary contains information, which, to the best of our knowledge, is accurate and up-to-date. But every practitioner must, as we have always insisted, take individual responsibility for taking all precautions when dispensing and administering drugs to children. We are looking forward to comments and criticism regarding the update.
We place on record, our sincere thanks to IAP President 2008, Dr R K Agarwal and IAP Hon Secretary General Dr Rohit Agarwal for their support and all the IAP Sub Chapters and the contributors for their expert inputs. I request all Chairpersons and Secretaries of our sub chapters to continue updating their respective chapters to make this quarterly web publication of the IAP a success. SIDS, Bangalore has continued to be very professional and astute in their work. We are thankful to Merck Ltd. for providing an Educational Grant for the 4 Web Updates for 2008.
Useful and meaningful quarterly updates will continue to be made available so that this ongoing publication of IAP meets international standards and continues to be sought after by all those caring for children and adolescents.
